HCUP-Nationwide Inpatient Sample
Dataset Format: A data use agreement is needed (described on the website below). There will soon be more information on the Social Science Research Commons Data Resources web page: https://ssrc.indiana.edu/resources/
Description: Approximately 20% sample of hospitalizations in the U.S., 1988 and onwards. Please see more details at https://www.hcup-us.ahrq.gov/db/nation/nis/nisdbdocumentation.jsp Available at no cost to additional users at IU. We are able to onboard new users and assist them in completing their own data use agreement. New users will not need to pay fees as long as they are IU researchers.
Features: Many features of the hospitalization record (data dictionary available at https://www.hcup-us.ahrq.gov/db/nation/nis/nisdde.jsp).
